Take guard against flu
Flu can kill!
Three words, but enough to grab attention! And to measure its caliber in bringing death, let's go back in history a little.
'The influenza pandemic of 1918-1919 killed more people than World War I (WWI), at somewhere between 20 and 40 million people. This event has been cited as the most devastating epidemic in recorded world history. More people died of influenza in a single year than in four-years of the Black Death/Bubonic Plague.
Adding to that, even today, flu is raging on and killing innocent people year after year. Hence, with these facts put in place, it is time to wake everyone up from their slumber.
To take Flu lightly would be ignorance. Even with all the technological advancement of the 21st century, Flu still possesses the ability to plague the world once again. With that in mind, it is time to take the threat of this potentially deadly disease seriously and do something about it.
And getting to know it better is a good start.
Flu is a contagious respiratory disease caused by the influenza virus with the victim suffering from symptoms like fever, chills, sore throat, body aches, dry cough, blocked nose, loss of appetite, weakness.besides others.
What makes Flu deadly is that it is very contagious, meaning that it can 'jump' from one person to another. Therefore, the first step towards protecting oneself from this disease is to imbibe clean habits like washing hands regularly, covering the face while coughing and sneezing, and limiting contact with infected people.
However, just by practicing good hygiene doesn't guarantee total immunity against flu!
Vaccination is the only method that protects millions of people from getting flu every year. Having said that, as the flu viruses are always changing is structure; a lot of people do get infected even after getting vaccinated. At such a juncture, one infected person has the potential of infecting a lot of others, especially young children and old people.
So, what does one do in such cases? Intriguing question, but thankfully, the answer to it is quite simple - Tamiflu (oseltamivir phosphate). Tamiflu is currently the most effective drug used to curb the threat of flu as it directly attacks the virus that causes flu, instead of just overlapping the symptoms. Statistically speaking, last year, Tamiflu was the most prescribed drug by doctors to cure flu.
What is good about Tamiflu is that, today, at a time where another deadly form of flu - the avian flu or the bird flu is slowing making its presence felt worldwide, health practitioners around the world believe that Tamiflu can be an effective defense against it.
There we have it. The threat of flu (all forms) still lingers on. And right now being complacent is not an option. Instead, it is time to get into action immediately by getting vaccinated and buying Tamiflu. Therefore, protect yourself and your loved ones right now before it's too late.
